((ooc: yes I know a day late and all that bit, but I was preoccupied when I was only yesterday and no one was really on anyway.))
A panel of judges sat behind a long table draped with shimmering red fabric. They were on a balcony a story about a large ring filled with black sand. Black for the Hydicean battle Royale taking place that day. It was easier on the eyes of the judges who looked on.
Two warriors would fight at a time, winner moving on to fight another winner. Until there were two left, until there was one left. It was not a battle to the death this month, hence the judges. Instead it was only until one fighter folded or the judges deemed them unable to continue.
And what they were fighting for? A pair of gloves which would increase their attack by 30. Very helpful if faced with a stronger opponent. The gloves were suspended above a pedestal to the left of the judges where they glinted in the sunlight and spun slowly to allow a good view of all parts of them.
One judge stood and called for silence. Another, a tall and slim woman, aged about sixty with graying hair and red eyes, stood beside the first judge and cleared her throat. "Today is yet another Battle Royale. We thank you all for coming, and you all for participating." Her eyes swept from spectators to fighters in turn. "You know the prize and you know the rules. I expect honorable fights today. First warriors to the ring."
She awaited their positioning in the ring. Once they were ready she continue shortly, "And fight!" With that she smiled slightly and sat back down in her seat, folding her hands over one another on the table.
